2005
Tumbas, V.T.
Methanol. petroleum ether, ethylacetate, n-butanole and water extracts of plants from Lamiacea family (mountain germander, Teucrium montanum L., lemon balm, Melissa officinalis L., winter savory, Satureja montana L. subsp. kitaibelli) were obtained by successive extraction with different polarity solvents. The contents of total phenols and flavonoids were determined by spectrophotometry methods. The content of phenolic acids in all examined plant extracts was determined by HPLC analysis. The influence of obtain plant extracts on stable DPPH radicals and reactive hydroxyl radicals was examined by electronic spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy. Also, the influence of type and concentration of plant extracts on formation and transformation of reactive peroxyl radicals, generated during peroxidation of sunflower oil and liposomes induced by different azo-initiators was examined by electronic spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy. Antimicrobial activity of all investigated extracts against a range of selected bacteria and fungi strains was determined using disc-diffusion method.
