Spa potential of the thermo-mineral water of Nikolicevo village (Eastern Serbia)

Nikolicevo village is located in the scope of Timok erruptive zone (Serbia) and its thermal waters are well known and used in the Roman times. Natural occurrences of thermal-mineral waters in Nikolicevo were the reason for hydrogeological research drilling in the seventies of the 20th century. Extraordinary results are obtained: summary yield of 2 wells of cca. 16 l/s and water temperature of 34-35 deg C. A certain scope of hydrogeological researches was realised during 2001-2002, for the estimation of exploitable resources of the Nikolicevo thermal water. There was founded that, mainly as a consequence of the wells deterioration, the yield (outflow rate) is reduced at 3 l/s. The recommendation is that new wells should be drilled (next to the existing ones), which will provide considerably larger yield than the current one. This will make a more attractive base for the investors in Nikolicevo spa potential.
