The resistances of 3 strains of field-collected bulb mites, Rhizoglyphus robini CLAPAREDE, infesting lilies in Kochi prefecture were examined. Each strain showed a high level of resistance to dimethoate, and there was a strain in which resistance to methidathion rose. LC50 of pyraclofos, prothiofos and pirimiphos-methyl against bulb mites rose in all strains compared with a susceptible strain, though the resistance ratio was not high. The suitable time to control against bulb mites was before the cold storage of bulbs in lily cultivation using the bulbs lifted after cutting flowers. The control effect on bulb mites was examined for pyraclofos and methidathion emulsions. The control effect when processing soaking was done in a 2,000 times dilution pyraclofos emulsion liquid for 30 minutes was found to be high before cold storage of bulbs.
