A New High-Yielding Peanut Cultivar, "Kokwang" with Leaf Spot Resistance, Large Seed, and Wide Adaptability

A new peanut variety "Kokwang(Arachis hypogaea L.)" was developed from the cross between Florigiant and Tifapan at the Honam Agricultural Research Institute in 2003. This variety has shinpung type and erect growth habit with midium size obovate dark green leaves. The number of branches is 14, the height of the main axis is 44 cm, and the length of primary branches is 48 cm. This variety has two kernels with red testa color in each pod and its 100-kernel weight was 104 g. Number of pods per ㎡ was 216 pods and the meat contents was 75%.
