The non-professional statistical data user; how to distinguish non-professional data users from professional users, how to address the needs of non-professional data user? These are the questions on which author will try to answer in this paper. An increasing number of requests for general, easy comprehensible analysis of the socioeconomic situation are mostly directed to national statistical institutes and this is a new challenge to effectively address the needs of the non-professional data users. The paper describes the approaches of Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia to communicate with non-professional data users.
