Silkworm pupa meal as feed for broilers

This study was undertaken to determine the performance of broiler chicks (Cobb Strain) fed with sikworm pupa meal as supplement to commercial mash. Sixty broiler chicks at 21 days old were randomly distributed into four treatments replicated three times following the randomized complete block design. The study was conducted at Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union from October 12, 2001 to November 22, 2001. The varying levels of dried pupa meal as supplement to commercial mash from 20 to 30% significantly produced heavier final and gain weight and the highest profit above feed, medicines and stock cost.
