Two experiments were conducted in Chieng Mai province during Fabruary-May 1995. The objective of the study was to determine the efficacy of early-postemergence herbicide propaquizafop (2-isopropyli deneamino-oxyethyl (R)-2-(4-(chloro-quinoxalin-2-yloxy) phenoxy) propionate) on annual grass weeds control in cabbage. Propaquizofop at the rate of 8-12 g (ai/rai, fluazifop-butyl at the rate of 24-30 g(ai)/rai and haloxyfop-methyl at the rate of 20 g(ai)/rai were applied as early-postemergence at 25 days after cabbage transplanting with knapsack aprayer. It was found that propaquizafop at the rate of 10 g(ai)/rai provided excellent control annual grass weeds (Digitaria adscendens and Eleusine indica) equivalent to fluazifop-butyl (24 g(ai)/rai) and haloxyfop-methyl (20 g(ai)/rai). The application of propaquizafop at the rate up to 12 g(ai)/rai showed no phytotoxicity symptom in cabbage. The of propaquizafop for annual grass weeds control could increase yield of cabbage when compared with control non treated plot.
