Se reporta el estudio de la competencia de las malas hierbas en cebolla y col de trasplante, realizándose 2 experimentos en cada cultivo durante los anos 1975-76 y 1976-77, donde se incluyeron variantes desbierbadas hasta 70 días a partir del trasplante y todo el ciclo vegetativo, así como inversamente enhierbadas y luego deshiérbadas. Los resultados muestran pérdidas de rendimiento de la cebolla de 22-100 % y de 7-41 % en la col, además de afectarse el contenido de azúcares de los bulbos de cebolla. Se recomienda mantener limpia de malas hierbas la cebolla durante todo el ciclo vegetativo y por espacio de 50 días a partir del trasplante en la col.

Two experiments were carried out for every crop during 1975-76 and 1976-77, where were included weeded plots up to 70 days after transplanting and for the whole vegetative cycle, as well as inversely weedy and then weeded. The results showed losses of the onions yields of 22-100 % and 7-41 % for cabbage, the sugar content of the onions bulbs were also affected. It is recommended to keep onion crop clean of weeds for the whole vegetative cycle and for the first 50 days after trasplantation in cabbage.
