Испанский язык; кастильский. Se describe una sintomatología en Huernia schneideriana Berger que consiste en la pudrición del tejido vegetal a partir del ápice del tallo hacia la base. El hongo que se encuentra presente sobre el tejido dañado fue identificado como Botryodiplodia theobromae Pat. Se realizaron inoculaciones artificiales para comprobar la patogenicidad del hongo aislado. Este trabajo constituye el primer reporte de B. theobromae como causante de muerte descendente en H. schneideriana.

The fungi found in damaged tissues was identified as Botryodiplodia, theobromae Pat. Its pathogenicity was assesed by artificial inoculations. This is the first report of B. theobromae causing die - back in H. schneideriana.
