Se establecieron las correlaciones existentes entre el peso verde, peso seco y número de hojas cosechables por plantas con el grado de infestación radical en dos variedades de tabaco negro, 'Criollo' y 'Habano Ligero'. Una fuerte asociación patógena quedó evidenciada a través de las ecuaciones que resultaron de estas correlaciones y que se ajustan a regresiones lineales simples del tipo Y=q-pX. Las pérdidas en rendimiento de la variedad ‘Criollo' fueron de 112,14 kg/ha por cada grado de infestación en incremento y, de 114,66 kg/ha en la variedad ‘Habano Ligero’.

The correlations existing between green weight, dry weight and number of harvestable leaves per plant and the degree of root infestation on 'Criollo' and ‘Habano Ligero' tobacco cultivars were established. A strong pathogenic association was, made evident by the equations which resulted from these correlations and are fitting single regression lines of the Y = q - pX type. The yield losses of the 'Criollo' cultivar amounted to 112,14 kg/ha per each additional degree of infestation, and to 114,66 kg/ha for the 'Habano Ligero' cultivar.
