Bioecología de Planococcus citri Risso (Homoptera: Pseudococcidae).

Испанский язык; кастильский. Planococcus citri Risso es una plaga muy dañina para el cultivo del cafeto. Su bioecología se desarrolló en condiciones semicontroladas en plantas de cafeto de la variedad Caturra. Un grupo de estas fueran infestadas con poblaciones de las raíces, sobre la base del tallo y otro grupo, sobre las zonas aéreas. Se tomaron las temperaturas diarias ambientales y del suelo, la humedad relativa y las precipitaciones. En condiciones de campo se evaluó el porcentaje de plantas infestadas en diferentes épocas durante los años 1986, 1987 y 1988 en las localidades de Topes de Collantes y III Frente Oriental. Se demostró que estos insectos migran en la planta con independencia del sitio de inoculación; como respuesta a temperaturas del suelo y humedad relativa inferiores a 23°C y 85 % que hacen que se ubiquen preferentemente en las raíces y cuando estas son superiores, la tendencia es trasladarse hacia las zonas aéreas. También se encontró que las poblaciones en general, son mas abundantes de noviembre a febrero, con máximas en este último mes, lo que se corresponde con las observaciones de campo.

Английский. Planococcus citri Risso is a very injurious pest for the coffee plantations. It was studied the bioecology of this pest in coffee plants, Caturra Variety, in semi-controlled conditions. A group of plants were infected with root populations on the stalk base and the other group on the aerial region. It was measured daily the soil and air temperature, the relative humidity and the rainfall. It was evaluated the percent of infected plants in field conditions in different seassons during 1986, 1987 and 1988 in the locations of Topes de Collantes and III Frente Oriental. It was demonstrated that the insects migrate in the plant with independence to the inoculation sise; as a response to soit temperature and air humidity below 23°C and 85% respectively, the establishment of the insects was preferently in the roots and when the aboye parameters had higher values, the insects showed a tendence to go to the aerial region. It was also founded that the populations are in general more abundant from november to february with a maximum in this last one and this agree mith the field observations.
