Se estudió, durante las campañas 1991 y 1992, la presencia de ácaros e insectos fitófagos, así como sus biorreguladores en 10 variedades de papas sembradas en los meses de agosto a noviembre. Se evidenció que Polyphagotarsonernus latus fue plaga en las plantaciones de verano, Bemisia tabaci y Aphis gossypii fueron los insectos que le siguieron en importancia. Las variedades estudiadas no difirieron significativamente para el conjunto de artrópodos registrados. Se determinó que los tratamientos químicos para Polyphagotarsonemus latus deben efectuarse según la metodología de señalización y pronóstico, y debe evitarse la siembra de plantaciones en verano, donde se prevé plantar en período óptimo.

It was studied the incidence of phytophage mites and phytophage insects on ten potatoes's varieties planted from August to November during the years 1991 and 1992. It was observed that Poloyphagotarsonemus latus was the most important pest during the summer period. Bemisia tabaci and Aphis gossypii follow it in importance. The studied varieties didn't differ mathematically. The chemical treatment must be performed under forecasting methodologies according to the injury level. It is recomended not to plant potatoes in summer in the areas used during the optimun period.
