Evaluación de los insecticidas organofosforados en el sedimento y la biota en una zona costera del sur de Pinar del Río.

Muestras de sedimento y biota fueron tomadas durante dos años consecutivos en puntos localizados en la región costera sur pinareña, entre los ríos Carraguao y San Diego _los cuales recorren una vasta región agrícola y arrocera_ con el objetivo de determinar residuos de insecticidas organofosforados, como parte de un proyecto de investigación coordinado por la OIEA titulado «Distribution, Fate and Effects of Pesticides on Biota in the Tropical Marine Environment. Use of Radiotracers». Se utilizó un método de análisis gas cromatográfico multirresidual, capaz de determinar los residuos de los fosforados potencialmente aplicados en el cultivo del arroz a concentraciones del orden de µg kg_1. No fueron detectados residuos de iprobenfos, paratión-metil, fenitrotion, malatión, fentión, clropirifos y diazinón por encima de 5 µg kg_1 .

Sediment and biota samples were taken in coastal points to the south of Pinar del Río Province during two years, between the rivers Carraguao and San Diego that flow through a vast and flat agricultural area which includes rice fields, with the aim of determining organophosphorus insecticides residues, as part of research coordinated project, carried out by IAEA and called «Distribution, Fate and Effects of Pesticides on Biota in the Tropical Marine Environment. Use of Radiotracers». For that purpose a multiresidual analytical method was used, which allows the reliable determination of all the organophosphorus residues that may be present in environmental samples associated with the rice production, with a very good sensibility. No residues of iprobenfos, parathion-methyl, fenitrothion, malathion, fenthion, chlorpyriphos and diazinon in biota and sediment samples were detected beyond the limit of detection which was 5 µg kg_1 .
