The European poultry industry is at a cross-road, and the eroding Intestinal Integrity is on of the main concerns. Taking the examples of those countries where integrations unite the different phases of production in one decision system are more successful than the fragmented markets. Integrations can implement standard operating procedures based upon the epidemiological approach at a higher level of quality management. Important monitoring activities can be carried out better and easier in integrations.
