Evaluation of spring rapeseed stability in cold dryland conditions

Rapessed is being developed rapidly as a alternative crop in cereal rotations. Evaluation of rapeseed adaptability is important due to absent of suitable cultivars in cold drylands. 15 genotypes of spring type rapeseed and mustard which had been selected among preleminary tests, were evaluted as a randomized complete blocks design in Maragheh and Shirvan during 2001-2004. Statistical analysis of some characteristics including days to flowering, days to maturity, plant height, numbers of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, thowsand kernel weight and grain yield showed that there is significant differences between at least two genotypes in term of about all understuding traits. Compounding the results of four environments showed that genotypes Bard-1 and Sel-2 belong to class A in terms of grain yield and stability analysis by phenotypic coefficient of variation showed that Bard-1, UCD-310 and Legacy are the most stable genotypes in this research.
