Evaluation of exotic germplasm of Vicia panonica in order to selection of suitable lines in cold dry land condition

Vetch is one the leguminous species that can develop soil and its fertility such as other species in leguminous group. 25 genotypes of Vicia panonica received from ICARDA were studied in dryland condition of Marageh in 2003-2004. Reffer to large number of treatments and in order to avoiding of heterogeneity in blocks, genotypes were evaluated as a simple lattice. All genotypes were planted in first autumn and some notations including plant height, flowering date, grain yield and biological yield were made during the growing season. The most genotypes were died in winter. However some single plants passed winter successfully which, selected individually. The line numbered 2660 had the least damage in both replications. All selected genotypes were considered for further investigation.
