Determine the most suitable of planting date and hybrid in winter planting of corn.

A field experiment was conducted during 2000-2002 in Orzoiyeh Research Station to determine the most suitable of planting date and corn hybrid in winter planting this study was conducted as a split- plot in randomized complete block design with four replications. Main plots were planting date with four levels ( 3. February, 17 february, 2 March, 18 March) and sub plots were hybrids with four levels (TWC 600, TWC 647, SC 704, SC 720). Analysis of variance and compartion of means with Duncans Multiple Test Range were used as statistical procedures. Results showed that there wasn’t any significant difference between planting dates for grain yield and yield components. Between hybrids, SC 720 produced highest grain yield (10.48 T/ha) and number row per ear. Based on results of this study we recommended four planting dates and hybrid SC 720 for winter planting in Orzoiyeh region.
