This experiment was conducted to determine the effects of sowing pattern and irrigation methods on yield, oil percent and water use efficiency of Rapeseed. The experiment was carried out in Khorasan (Mashhad), Fars (Darab), Ardabil (Moghan), west Azerbaijan (Khoy) and Tehran (Karaj) provinces for two years (2000-2001) using a randomized complete block design in split plot arrangement with three replications. The irrigation methods (a1-usual furrow, a2-border and a3-alternate furrow) were considered as main plots and the sowing pattern (b1-two line on mound , b2-three line on mound and b3-four line on mound) as sub plots. The result showed that: 1- The yield of Rapeseed was affected by irrigation methods at 5% level. The usual furrow method increased yield up to 6% (border) and 9% (alternate furrow). The usual furrow method could be recommended Rapeseed cultivation in conditions that there wasn’t limitation in water resources. 2- The alternate furrow method cause saving of influent water to about 29% (border) and 25% (usual furrow) at 1% level. This method also decrease the outflow water about 20% (border) and 13% (usual furrow). The water use efficiency was increased 19 to 33 percent compare to other methods. Therefore, with limitation of water resources, using of alternate furrow method could be recommended for Rapeseed. 3- The two line on mound sowing pattern, significantly (5% level) caused saving of influent water, decreased outflow water, increased yield and water use efficiency and therefore , it can be recommended for Rapeseed cultivation.
