In order to identify the relationships of some morpho-physiological traits such as early vigor, plant height, spike length and yield components with grin yield of spring bread wheat on warm dryland conditions of Gachsaran this study was conducted in a RCB design with 3 replications during 2002- 2003 wheat growing season in Gachsaran dryland agricultural station. During growing period data was recorded from different morphophysiological traits of 20 bread wheat genotypes. Genotypic and phenotypic coefficients of variation, heritability, and genetic advances were calculated. Furthermore path analysis for grain yield was carried out. The result showed significant differences and high heritabilities of different traits of bread wheat Grain yield was significantly and positively correlated with the number of grain per spike, early vigor and test weight and negatively correlated with plant height. Path analysis for grain yield indicated that positive selection for the number of grain per spike and test weight is effective for selection of high grain yield genotypes of bread wheat.
