At nowadays farmers can't survive without analytical services in determination of soil fertility, plant nutrition diagnostic and fertilization optimization. The author describes main functions of the State Ltd Agrochemical Research Centre in Riga (Latvia) in soil agrochemical investigation, collection and compilation of information, field investigation and collection of analytical data about manure composition and improvement of regulations for field crops fertilization. In addition, monitoring of soil mineral nitrogen content and giving recommendations of nitrogen fertilizers optimization has been carried out in this organization.
