Nine parental lines of public hybrids were planted every 15 days at PhilRice [Philippine Rice Research Institute] Negros to determine their agronomic performances as influenced by planting dates. The parental lines included IR58025A, IR5082B, IR34686R of PSB Rc72H; IR68888A and IR62161R of NSIC Rc114H; and IR 68897A, IR68897B and IR60819R of NSIC Rc 116H. The days from sowing to flowering and maturity of nine parental lines varied depending on the planting dates. Plant height, number of productive tillers, duration of anthesis, grain appearance, and phenotypic acceptability also showed variation with the different planting dates.
