Grape vine dying caused by large cuttings

It has been established that applying of large cuttings is fatal for older vines. Damage is smaller if the cuttings have been applied to younger vines, few years after the training system was created. Applying of radical measures of pruning is not recommended, except for the cases when spurs or canes are placed below the cuttings.
