Effect of different protein sources in concentrate mixtures on slaughter results [of] early weaded lambs during fattening

Nutrition trial was performed using 60 lambs (30 males and 30 females) in fattening of F2 generation (crosses of Sarplaninska x Wuertemberg) divided into 3 groups. Lambs were weaned at 30 day of age and fattened for the following 54 days with complete forage mixtures of different protein sources. The lambs of the 1st group was fattening of forage mixtures with soybean meal, the 2nd group with sunflower meal and the 3rd group with livestock yeast. In addition to concentrate, lambs were given meadow hay ad lib. In the end of nutrition trial, from each group, 3 female and 2 male lambs were separated to serve for studies on slaughter results. From slaughter results were evidence carcass weight with the head, dressing percentage of slaughtered lambs and weight of internal organs. Dressing percentage per trial group was as follows: 48.95; 48.52 amd 49.06% and with no statistical significance.
