Silage quality of corn grain, corn plant and lucerne

Three different silages, obtained in laboratory condition, were investigated in order to get good enough data to estimate their quality. The results proved that the levels of the total and free acetic acid were in the satisfactory range. Lactic acid was a dominant one in the whole maize plant silage accompanied with the lowest pH value (3.58). Lucerne made silage proved to be of pore quality with high pH value and with considerable participation of NH3-N in the total-N content.
