Need for rural areas retrieval and quality of life improvement require organized and systematic social action, or rural development planning. The very first step towards defining development strategy is to identify all development potentials of rural areas. The paper is focused on economic structure basic characteristics of Vojvodina rural population in order to point out human potentials for rural development.
