To evaluate the impact of maize and wheat and their crop rotation to soil structure it is necessary to use different indicators. The experiment was carried out at the Rimski Sancevi Experimental Station of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, Serbia. The following replicates were included: unfertilized two-year rotation (maize and wheat) and three-year rotation (maize, soybean and wheat), fertilized two-year rotation (maize and wheat), three-year rotation (maize, soybean and wheat) and monoculture of wheat and maize. Nitrogen is used on fertilized plots at 120 kg/ha for maize and 100 kg/ha for wheat, w Nitragin in soybean. Since 1986 in fertilized plots, manure and mineral fertilizers have not been applied because of a high content of phosphorus and potassium. The result of aggregate composition analysis, stability of structural macro aggregates against dissolution in water and structure coefficient (k) shows that wheat has favourable effect to soil structure of 0-30 cm layer.
