Milicevic, Z.
By investigating dynamics of growth and development of chickens of slow growth we established normal distribution in slaughter traits of chickens, growth of carcass and main and secondary parts and mass and length of major bones. We have established the development of chicken carcass and optimal function of biological growth of chickens in different rearing systems. Also, we have evaluated the growth of chickens in the future as well as degree of the accuracy of the evaluation of missing data. Investigations demonstrated that by application of polynome function it is possible to calculate the missing data as well as to predict the regression line of growth of body mass, carcass mass, mass of thighs, necks, leg and abdominal fat, as well as for other parameters monitored in this study but with less accuracy. Investigations have justified set tasks and confirmed the working hypothesis and showed that dynamics of chicken growth and development is very complex biological process affected by many genetic and factors of the environment, and that each rearing program for broiler chickens should be adjusted according to defined goal in order to achieve maximum production of high quality poultry meat.
