The paper presents results of the testing of a standard-make combine harvesters Z-142 in oilseed rape harvest. The testing was performed in field conditions. Grain losses for oilseed rape were determined depending on combine harvester working regimes; position and kinematics coefficient of the winch. Losses on the header and thresher of combine harvester were also determined. The largest percentage of losses was detected on the header, while the thresher losses were within the tolerance. Minimal header losses were 4.5%, while the largest were 26.7%. By adequate selection of optimal working regime for the combine harvester and position and kinematics coefficient of the winch header losses can be reduced by 11% to 20%, depending on the time of harvest during the day. Using special adapters for oilseed rape, header losses can be reduced below 3%.
