Haemorrhagic septicemias in fishes caused by motile aeromonads

We have examined presence of the disease caused by motile aeromonads in common carp (Cyprinus carpio), grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella), crucian carp (Carrasius carrasius), channel catfish (Ictalururs punctatus), and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Motile aeromonads caused diverse pathologic conditions that include acute, chronic, and covert infections. For examinations, samples taken from internal organs, skin and gills were inoculated on standard and differential culture media plates. Identification of the isolates were based on morphology of the colonies, Gram-staining and biochemical characteristics.
