Monitoring of phreatic water regime under potential impact of waste water pollution

This paper discusses unconfined alluvial aquifers and their vulnerability to contamination caused by human activities, consequently their usability, and a system of groundwater monitoring. The discussion is based on a case example of the alluvial aquifer threatened pollution by liquid manure from a (unplanned) constructed hog farm. A system of groundwater quality observation networks is proposed following the general instruction for similar situation and generally for the national observation network of groundwater quality as an important water resource of Serbia.
