The effect of substrata on rooting of the vegetative apple rootstocks

The paper presents the results of evaluation of the effects of substrata on rooting of the following vegetative apple rootstocks: M9, Emla, Pajam 1 and Pajam 2, Glistenjak, Floradur 1, Floradur 2, Sondermischung grdnererde and Kikkila. Substrata were applied in quantity of 1.5 kg per mother bush, with soil covering as the control. The following parameters were monitored in the study: number of sprouts per bush, sprout length and diameter, length of the rooted section, root weight, number and length of all roots and number and length both of ramified and unramified roots. The substrata had positive effect on all evaluated parameters.
