Celery is vegetable crop which is in Serbia grown on small area. In this paper quality characteristics are shown, with special emphasis on its chemical properties and significance in human diet. Also, high demands for environmental conditions (soil and climate) of this plant species are outlined in this paper. Celery is mainly produced by transplanting on benches and bands.
