In spite of all the activities performed to improve the environment of Ziarska basin, residues of the past emissions are evident everywhere, and the deposits of red and brown sludge are a warning risk sign. One possible way of eliminating the present and future risks is the technical and biological recultivation which will have to take into account an alarming quantity of waste water in the sludgy field. The life of recultivation woody plants will also be affected by the agro-hydrologic balance of the root zone of the cultivation area and will mainly be a result of precipitation and discharge process management in the sludgy field. It is exactly a system for woody plants cultivation that can reduce non-productive losses of the caught and transformed precipitation water to a minimum, thus creating conditions for water supply of plants in dry period. Similarly, the hydro-physical properties of the sludge, e.g. high, even too high permeability, set up the main objectives of the precipitation water management within the biological and technical recultivation of sludgy fields. It means to use most precipitation and secure the lowest infiltration of precipitation water into the sludgy field.
