Development, dormancy, breaking dormancy and factors affecting growth of small white flower morningglory seed have been conducted in the greenhouse and laboratory. It was found that the seed of small white flower morningglory reached the physioloical maturity at 21-22 days after blooming. After that the seed became dormancy which was the effect of impermeable of seed coat or became hardseed. Soaking the seed in H2SO4 at the concentration of 97.7 percent for 80 minutes could break dormancy of the seed. Cold temperature could not break the dormancy of the seed. The optimum temperature for seed germination was 25-35 deg C. The pH of the solution at 2.0-8.5 allowed the seed to germinated. The osmotic potential lower than -0.8 Mpa did not allow the seed germinate. Highest percent of seed germination was obserbed at 1-2 cm depth from soil surface and less percent of seed germination was found in the deep soil.
