Groundnut is a important economic plant of Thailand, but the production o groundnut in Thailand always has the problem of virus disease. Non-conventional breeding using genetic engineering is a potential method for production of disease resistant plants. The success of this technique depends on factors inducing adventitious shoot formation. BA and NAA are the important factors controlled growth and development of plant tissues culture in vitro. Young shoots and immature leaflets of two groundnut varieties (Tainan 9 and Khon Kaen 60-3) were cultured on agar Ms medium supplemented with 0, 3 and 6 mg/l BA in combination with 0, 0.5 and 1 mg/l NAA for 2 months. Factor of BA induced shoot proliferation of young shoots and immature leaflets of two groundnut varieties and NAA was an optimal factor for root formation. BA and NAA had interaction on growth and development of both groundnut's explants.
