Effect of predecessor and weed compactness on the yield of winter barley
2007
Saldzhiev, I.
In the period of 19982000 a model field experiment was carried out to determine the biological group of weed and yield changing of barley cultivated after tree predecessors (barley confinions crop monoculture, cotton and sunflower) and five levels of weeding (control zero, control economic and variants with rates of different compactnoss of weeds 8 numbers weeds per m2, 16 numbers weeds per m2 and 32 weeds per m2). The following concession were grown on the basis of the result obtained: 1. Total weed infestation after barley monoculture was 32.4 per m2, 18.2 number per m2 after cotton as predecessor and 16.4 number per m2 after sunflower. 2. Losses of grain yield for variants cultivated on barley monoculture increased from check economic 9.6% (306 kg/ha) to 58.3% (1859 kg/ha) for variant of 32 numbers weeds per m2; after cotton as predecessor the losses increased from 4.7% (239 kg/ha) to 25.5 % (1299 kg/ha) and after sunflower as predecessor the losses enlarged from 5.0% (232 kg/ha) to 30.6 % (1414 kg/ha).
