The experiment was performed in 90 one-day old male broiler chickens, divided into 3 groups of 30 birds each; each group with 3 repetitions of 10 battery-reared chickens up to 42 days of age. The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of the supplementation of compound poultry feed with the Lactina probiotic at different amounts upon meat composition and carcass traits in broiler chickens. The administration of Lactina at the recommended dose (0.06/0.03%) in this experiment resulted in significantly higher weight of bratfertig and grill chickens compared to controls. There were no statistically significant differences with regard to the chemical composition of breast and thigh meat in chickens fed on diets with equal composition supplemented or not with the Lactina probiotic.
