Chemical composition and organoleptical assessment of Basmi variety group tobacco

The technological indexes and smoking properties of different variety group (types) tobacco have the big importance for processing firms providing with demanded quality groups. The laid interest of firms to ecotype Krumovgrad and to Djebel in lower stage is the reason for present investigation conduction. The aim of the investigation is characterization consumer properties of Basmi variety group by objective indexes. The investigated tobacco is analysed in relation to: tobacco and tobacco smoke chemical composition, expert and degustation assessment. It's established that the chemical composition of investigated varieties 2005 crop is characterized with low nicotine content, high reduced sugars content and in result the ratio reduced sugars/nicotine has high values. The grading is accomplished of investigated varieties by smoking properties.
