Subject of the study were 970 buffalo cows from the Bulgarian Murrah breed with a total of 3457 calvings from the herd of the Agricultural Institute – Shoumen for the period 1976-2006. Of the total calvings, 994 were from first calving (heifers), 2463 with more than one calvings (buffalo cows), and 196 calvings with registered uterine and vaginal prolapses. The information on the prolapses was taken from the Herd books and the Veterinary Register of the herd. A dispersion analysis of non-orthogonal two-factor complex for qualitative traits was used for testing the effect of the genealogical line and the age of the buffalo cows. The object of the study was to establish the influence of the genealogical line and the age of buffalo cows on the uterine and vaginal prolapses in buffalo cows and heifers. The following conclusions were drawn: The genealogical line exerts a certain influence on the uterine and vaginal prolapses in buffalo cows and heifers. The buffalo cows' age has no influence on the prolapses.
