Research results of the formation and assessment of genotypic variability and combining ability of fiber flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) cultivars (Prizyv 2, Vesna, G 1071/4, 1288/12, Lyuda, LD-147, Lira) according to flax productivity traits: plant height, technical length, stem weight, fiber weight, fiber content percentage were presented. Variance of flax varieties combining ability was analyzed. Results of the genotypic variability between flax varieties were stated, differences between flax varieties according to the general combining ability, specific combining ability and reciprocal effects were proved. The positive effects of the general combining ability according to plant height showed the following varieties: Lira (5,25), LD-147 (4,43). Lyuda (1,47); according to technical length – Lira (4,98), LD-147 (4,83), Lyuda (2,68); according to stem weight – Lida (65,85), LD-147 (25,11), Lyuda (10,4); according to fiber weight – Lira (21,02), LD-147 (5,49); according to fiber content percentage – Lira (1,27), Prizyv (1,08), Vesna (0,86). Lira variety proved to be the universal donor of traits which determined fiber productivity. Assessment of reciprocal effects of F1 hybrids of flax varieties was presented. High positive estimate of reciprocal effects according stem weight and fiber weight were stated in the following hybrids: Lira x G 1071/4 (82,5 and 20,6 accordingly), 1288/12 x Vesna (28,2 and 6,4 accordingly)
