[Promising sweet cherry cultivars for the western region of Belarus]

The results of the sweet cherry varieties studying performed in 1996-2006 have been finalized. The description of the three introduced sweet cherry varieties selected by high productivity and attractive transportable fruit is given. The varieties are suitable for the commercial horticulture in the western region of Belarus. The research results have, shown that the following sweet cherry varieties are perspective for the conditions of Belarus: Rozovaya kaplya - by winter hardiness, resistance to diseases, high productivity, early fruit maturity; Tavricheskaya and Mlievskaya chernaya - by winter hardiness, high productivity and high fruit quality
