[Influence of high temperature on the functional activity of photosystem-2 in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) leaves in the conditions of protein synthesis modification]

Role of proteins of cytoplasmatic and chloroplast origin in the development of photosynthetic response in membranes to the supraoptimal temperature was investigated by the example of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) leaves. Influence of heat treatment on the content of photosynthetic pigments and on the parameters of chlorophyll fluorescence in green germs of barley with the modified protein synthesis was analysed. It was proved that alongside with the decreasing of the synthetic pigments, fluorescent parameters characterizing photochemical activity of photosystem-2 (PS 2) in green barley seedlings did not change under the influence of protein synthesis inhibitor. At the same time the inhibition of proteins coded in plastid caused the visible decrease of PS 2 activity. The subsequent warming up (3 hours, 40 dec C) of crops treated with the antibiotics (cycloheximide solution, 50 mg/l or chloramphenicol, 100 mg/l) did not cause the sufficient changes in slow fluorescent induction parameters. Research results proved that inhibition of protein synthesis did not exercise influence on the adaptative processes to the high temperature occurring on the level of PS 2
