Research results of investigation of species composition and migration dynamics of aphids (Aphididae) for the effective organization of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) pest protection by the example of the South-Eastern region of the Republic of Belarus were presented. In the conditions of Belarus the following aphid species were registered: Aphis nasturii Kalt, Aphis frangulae Kalt, Aulacorthum solani Kalt, Makrosiphum solanifolii Ashm, Aphis fabae Scop and Myzodes persicae Salz. In course of 2001-2005 in the conditions of South region the following species were the dominating: Aphis nasturii Kalt (26,9%), Aphis frangulae Kalt (25,9%) and Aulacorthum solani Kalt (30,3%). Makrosiphum solanifolii Ashm (9,5%), Aphis fabae Scop (7,4%) and Myzodes persicae Salz (0,04%) had the lowest number. The maximum period of aphid migration was the period of potato flowering that required the organization of the intensive plant protection measures. Intensity of aphids propagation depended not on weather conditions but on potato condition and age as well as on the intensity of pest control measures. Mass summer fly and highest population number were observed from the end of July till the beginning of August. That is why it was recommended to realize the preharvest leafy tops removal for early-ripening and mid-ripening varieties in the end of July, for late-ripening ones – till the beginning of August
