Research results of slice coloring assessment of 75 hybrid combinations of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) for the breeding of parental forms combinations suitable for the industrial processing without reconditioning in course of the whole period of cool storage were presented. Experiment results showed that potato storage at the temperature +2-3 deg C in course of 3 and 5 months negatively influenced the quality of potato chips even after the reconditioning in comparison with the same hybrids and varieties stored at the temperature of +4-5 deg C. The highest amount (43,5-60,8%) of hybrid samples suitable for industrial processing was noted in combinations obtained after crossing of parental forms both suitable for chips production. In crossings of suitable varieties and hybrids with average-suitable ones the ratio of high quality hybrids varied from 26,7% up to 57,4%. In combinations of average-suitable varieties the quantity of high-quality hybrids was 24,0-35,0 and in combinations of average-suitable with the unsuitable ones – from 9,1% up to 21,9%. The lowest amount (up to 3,6%) of qualitative samples was observed after unsuitable forms crossing. For the production of potato varieties resistant to cold storage conditions and suitable for industrial processing it was proposed to use the parental forms with high suitability level or at least one parental form with the observed trait
