[Peculiarities of the seasonal growth and development of Primula L. species introduced in Belarus]

Peculiarities of seasonal development of the following 19 primula (Primula L.) species and varieties including rare and protected ones introduced in Belarus as the perspective ornamental and drug plants were considered: P. juliae Kuzn., P. komarowii A. Los., P. auriculata Lam., P. florindae Ward, P. denticulata Smith, P. bulleyana Forrest, P. burmanica Balf. f. et Wart., P. pulverulentha Dutlie, P. japonica A. Gray, P. sieboldii Morr., P. auyricula L., P. halleri A. Gmel., P. vulgaris Hoods, P. elatior (L.) Hill, P. veris L., P. polyantha Ranitsa, P. vulgaris Polka Belaruskaya, P. vulgaris Spatkanne, and P. juliae Purpurvaip. Phenological groups according to the beginning of vegetation and flowering terms were singled out. Belonging of the introduced species and varieties to the various pheno- and rhythm types was stated. Data on terms and duration of the main phenological stages were determined. Species with the prolonged flowering period were revealed. Morphogenesis of plant generative organs depending on the length of different species flowering period was analysed. Research results showed that in the conditions of Belarus all studied primula varieties and species showed the stable rhythmics of seasonal growth and development, passed over all the stages of seasonal development that proved their successful adaptation to the new vegetation conditions. The comparative analysis of the seasonal flowering proved that primulas could be used as the deserving plants for the settlement gardening and commercial floriculture
