Putyatin, Yu.V. | .
Results of long - term investigation of soils contaminated with 137Cs and 90Sr radionuclides and their accumulation by agricultural crops depending on soil fertility and protection methods in the conditions of Republic of Belarus were presented. Role of cation composition of sod-podzolic sandy-loam soils in minimization of radionuclides transfer into agricultural products was analysed. Influence of soil acidity and liming on radionuclides transfers to spring rape (seed), lupine (seed), wheat (seed), potato (tubers), barley (seed), ryegrass and clover was analysed. Efficiency of application of different liming fertilizers on lowering of 137Cs and 90Sr accumulation by agricultural crops was studied. Influence of soil saturation with calcium and magnesium and their correlation as well as interaction between 90Sr and calcium depending on plant type and variety were investigated. Influence of potassium nutrition of sod-podzolic sandy - loam soils on yielding capacity of agricultural crops and 137Cs and 90Sr accumulation was described. Dependence of 137Cs and potassium entry on fertilizer ratio and crop varieties was analysed. Characteristic of radionuclides immobilization by agricultural crops depending on the conditions of soil mineral nutrition, ration of potassium fertilizers, crop types and varieties was presented. Rate and duration of 137Cs and 90Sr radionuclides fixation by sideline products were stated. Radiological and economic efficiency of realized protective measures was analysed
