[Clinical and hematological indices of piglets treated with Diamixan]

Investigation of the optimal dose and efficiency of new metabolic probiotic Diamixan (sterile concentrate of waste products of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus delbrueckii, Streptococcus salivarius) for the preventive therapy of piglets sick with gastroenteritis at the weaning period was realized. Research results showed that prophylactic effect of Diamixan had instant dependence on the dose of the preparation. In dose of 0,05 ml/kg of live weight it showed low preventive effect (13,3% cases of gastroenteritis). In dose of 0,1 and 0,15 ml/kg of live weight there was stated the evident prophylactic effect (there were registered no cases of gastroenteritis). Diamixan watering to piglets at the weaning period promoted the lowering of disease incidence, stabilization of hemopoiesis, rendered the stimulative influence on the bacterial growth - inhibitory activity and lysozymic activity in blood serum and caused the increasing of live weight gain on 16,09%. Hematological examination proved the increasing of the total number of leucocytes in experimental animals on 14,82% - 15,79%. Increasing of bacterial growth - inhibitory activity from the third till the fourteenth day of experiment was 10,43%, 16,7% and 17,35%. By the end of the experiment the lysozymic activity in blood serum in comparison with the first day increased on 27,95%
