Monitoring of burden gases emission levels after farmyard manure application in grapevine and vegetable growing

The aim of this study was to measure gas emissions (NH3, CO2, CH4, H2S) from farmyard manure applied in two different ways in vineyards and vegetable fields and to compare gas emissions from different types of manure (poultry litter, cattle manure, compost, pig slurry). In the first experiment, the manure was applied either inter-rows into the depth of 0.12-0.15 m or inter-rows into a preliminary prepared furrow and ploughed into the soil. Gas emissions were significantly lower when the manure was applied into furrows than when it was applied only inter-rows. In the second experiment, different types of manure were applied alone or in different combinations in cabbage fields treated or not with the agent Amalgerol to reduce ammonia emissions. The highest emissions were observed with poultry and cattle manure application. The highest reduction of emissions was achieved when Amalgerol was applied with poultry manure. Cabbage yields depended on the type of manure and application time (autumn or immediately before seeding).
