Study on feeding frequency of humpback grouper culture (Cromileptes altivelis) was conducted in floating net cages. The aim of this study is to know the optimum feeding frequency with different size of fish. Experiment was divided into three stages i.e; fish with 10 to 50 g body weights (first stage), 50-150 g (second stage) and 150-500 (third stage). For first and second stage, consisted of four treatments, in terms of feeding three times a day (3/1), twice a day (2/1), once a day (1/1), and once in two days (1/2), were examined. For third stage, treatments were, twice a day (2/1), once a day (1/1), once in two days (1/2), and once in three days (1/3). Each treatment consisted of three replications. At every feeding, experimental fish were fed with commercial dry pellets to satiation. Both first and second stage, treatments of 3/1 and 2/1 attained significantly higher growth rates and lower feed conversion rates than the other treatments (P less than 0.05). In third stage, the treatments of 2/1 and 1/1 obtained significantly better results in above parameters than the other treatments (P less than 0.05). Survival rates of these last treatments were relatively higher than those in the other treatments. There was indicated that the optimum feeding frequencies for this species are 2/1 for the fish of 10 to 150 g BW and 1/1 for the larger fish.
