In order to Investigate efficacy of the new herbicide Envoke 75 WG ( trifloxysulfuron sodium ) in cotton fields, an experiment was carried out in four locations ( Varamin, Golestan, Khorasan, Fars) in 2003. The experiment was conducted in randomized complete block design with 13 treatments and 4 replications. Treflan (trifluralin 48% EC ) at 2 and 2.5 l/ha (ppi), Sonalan( ethalfluralin 33.3%EC ) at 3 and 3.5 l/ha ( pre sowing), Karmex ( diuron 80% WP) at 3 kg/ha (pre emergence), Envok (trifloxysulfuron sodium 75 WG) at 10, 15 and 20 gr/ha with and without cytogate 2/1000 ( post emergence at the 7 leaves stage of cotton) were used. Weed free and weed infested treatments in the growing season were as the check treatments. Results showed that Envok was most effective in decreasing dry weight and density of Chrozophora sp., Amaranthus retroflexus , Portulaca oleracea, Abutillon theophrasti. It did not control Sorghum halepense, very effectively. After weed free check, the plots treated with 15 and 20 gr/ha of Envok + cytogate , had the most number of cotton bolls and yield. Envok at 15 gr/ha + cytogate was therefore the best treatment after experiment.
